First blood

20 January, 2011, 3:48 PM : It’s been exactly a month and 5 hours at this new job and I am back to my usual ways. No work, getting bored. Smoking cigarettes, getting bored. Why don’t they create a policy for normal internet access which would automatically become effective when one’s having no work? Try mapping the internet access rights to the project schedule. Very high level concept but this should work, I believe.
These internal company web portals that claim to have useful information is not at all entertaining.Soporific articles, geeky interface, painted in red and yellow, don’t solve your purpose at all but bore you to death. I was hoping to have something witty to write in this post, but, that has eluded me. May be next time, I could write something better.

I’d like to share a couple of things off the topic. I have realized (lately) that I suck at time management. No matter how hard I try, I am always behind my schedule. Also, I am bad at planning things. In fact, most of the times, I don’t plan at all. So, that makes me a double sinner. I am 25 now and can’t afford to be like this forever. But have no clue how to get rid of this.

However, I am really happy for one thing. Earlier, I used to sleep till noon even on office days. Constant nagging and lectures regarding punctuality and discipline at work by my ex manager was a regular affair for me. Now, I have developed this habit of waking up early. I used to think that this’s something I'd never achieve. So, in a way, it’s an accomplishment. Those who actually know me just can’t digest my so called feat; it’s a miracle for them. It’s been just 20 days in the process but I think I can keep this thing running. And I believe this transformation is also going to bring some other changes in me as well. Positively, some laurels and accolades too.
I have a lot to write about music, movies and my new addiction, Twitter. But that’d make this post mammoth-ly large (read: boring). Also, I don’t mix pleasure with business. Hence, signing off.
To all those who cared to read this shit till the end,"Have a great life".
tata !

Most of the Indian IT companies don't allow normal internet access as it's supposed to hamper the productivity. Not everyboby is as lucky as you :)
